May 23, 2007 Inaugural meeting of Japan-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship League

An inaugural meeting of Japan-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship League was held at the Parliament. The Ambassador Dr. Khalil Hassan and the Secound Secretary Mr. Mohamed Alsowaidi attended the meeting and exchanged opinions with Diet members.

May 20-27, 2007 Press Tour to the Kingdom of Bahrain

Journalists of the Mainichi Newspapers and Kyodo News were invited to the Press Tour for the Kingdom of Bahrain. They had interviews with ministers and members of parliament and visited tourist spots like the world heritage as well as leisure facilities which are under construction.

May 18-27, 2007 Participating in Hinton Nagoya’s “Arabian Fair”

“Arabian Fair ~Flying Carpet~” which offers real Arabic food was held at an brasserie of Hilton Nagoya. The Embassy participated in the fair presenting an exhibit which intdoduces Bahrain.

May 11, 2007 Bahrain Embassy introduced on TV Program “A Table of Embassy”

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain was introduced on a TV program “A Table of Embassy” of BS FUJI. Its reporter Ms. Yumi Msauda, Ambassador Dr. Khalil Hassan and his wife Dr. Salwa Almahroos enjoyed typical Bahraini dishes such as Machboos amd Tikka and talked about Bahraini culture and the Ambassador and his wife?? private life.

May 3, 2007 Foreign Minister attended the meeting of the International Compact with Iraq.

Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa took part in the first meeting of the International Compact with Iraq being held in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el Sheikh. At the conference Shaikh Khalid asserted the continuity of aid to Iraq to help it recover, attain its national objectives and regain its position in regional and international arenas.

He also welcomed the compact’s international commitments aimed at attaining security and stability in Iraq.

He also met Japanese Prime Minister’s adviser on national security Yuriko Koike.
