June 22, 2008 FIFA World Cup 2010 Qualifying Game for Finals between Bahrain and Japan was held at Saitama Stadium

The last game of the Third Round Group 2 of the Asia World Cup Qualifying for the Finals of FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010, between Bahrain and Japan was held in Saitama, Japan.

Despite of heavy rain, the stadium was packed with fifty thousand enthusiastic football fans. Japan won the game to be qualified for the finals together with Bahrain. Before the game, upon invitation of Mr. Saburo Kawabuchi, the Captain of Japan Football Association, HIH Princess Takamado and Dr. Khalil came down on the pitch and encouraged each and every player.
