Job Vacancy Announcement

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain is seeking English-Japanese as well as Arabic-Japanese bilingual secretaries. The positions to be offered are as listed below.

 

[POSITION 1: Secretary to Ambassador]

  • Type of contract: Locally employed full timer (office hours: 9:00-17:00, Mon-Fri)
  • Starting Date: Immediately
  • Salary:  Negotiable
  • Application Deadline: 17:00, Friday, January 26, 2018 (Japanese local time)
  • Leave:   30 days annual leave
  • Qualifications:
    • A university degree or above
    • Fluent communication skills in Japanese, both oral and written (Non-native Japanese speakers are required to have at least JLPT N1 or equivalent.)
    • Fluent communication skills either in Arabic or English, both oral and written (Non-native English speakers are required to have at least TOEFL IBT80/ CBT213/PBT550, TOEIC 900, or equivalent.)
    • Computer literacy (MS Word/Excel/PPT at least)
    • Experiences in secretarial work or equivalent field
    • Experience in Embassy, Consulate, or other international mission is a plus.
    • Knowledge of Arabic culture is a plus.
    • Knowledge of Japanese business etiquette is a plus.
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Ability to work independently and proactively
    • Ability to recognize priorities
    • Ability to troubleshoot problems
    • Ability to keep confidentiality
    • Overtime or flexible hours when required
  • Duties:
    • Manage Ambassador’s daily and forward-planned schedules and incoming invitations
    • Organize meetings, conferences, and business trips
    • Drafting letters of application, speeches, and etc.
    • Liaise with internal and external contacts
    • Assist in Ambassador’s family affairs
    • Accompany Ambassador occasionally as an interpreter
    • Work in a team to facilitate Bahraini delegation visiting Japan

 

[POSITION 2: Consular & Cultural Affairs Officer]

  • Type of contract: Locally employed full timer (office hours: 9:00-17:00, Mon-Fri)
  • Starting Date: Immediately
  • Salary:  Negotiable
  • Application Deadline: 17:00, Friday, January 26, 2018 (Japanese local time)
  • Leave:   30 days annual leave
  • Qualifications:
    • A university degree or above
    • Fluent communication skills in Japanese, both oral and written (Non-native Japanese speakers are required to have at least JLPT N1 or equivalent.)

    • ­Take care of consular services’ applications from Japan, Australia, and New Zealand
    • Troubleshoot incoming telephone/e-mail inquiries
    • Organize promotional events and programs
    • Give a presentation in public to introduce the country
    • Take care of interviews from TV/magazine/newspaper
    • Work in a team to facilitate Bahraini delegation visiting Japan
